Job Overview
Fountain House is seeking a compassionate, responsible, and patient Caretaker to support individuals receiving mental health care. The caretaker will play a vital role in ensuring a safe, clean, supportive, and structured environment while assisting residents with daily activities and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day care and support to residents in a respectful and empathetic manner

Assist residents with daily living activities, including hygiene, meals, and routine tasks

Maintain cleanliness and organization of living spaces and common areas

Observe residents’ behavior and report any changes or concerns to supervisors or mental health professionals

Support residents in following daily schedules, activities, and house rules

Ensure residents’ safety at all times and respond calmly during emergencies

Assist in serving meals and ensuring proper nutrition

Encourage positive behavior, independence, and social interaction

Coordinate with healthcare staff to support treatment and rehabilitation plans

Maintain confidentiality and dignity of all residents

Basic understanding of mental health care (training will be an advantage)

Qualifications

Minimum education: Matric / Intermediate (preferred)

Previous experience in caregiving, mental health facilities, or social welfare organizations is a plus

Willingness to work shifts, including nights or weekends if required
